Menuhin Festival logo

HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA is proud to be the principal sponsor of the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad since 2003.

This unique and prestigious musical event was founded in 1957 by the famous violinist of Russian origin, Lord Menuhin, as a platform to promote young talented musicians of all religions and nationalities. The festival runs from mid-July to September every year and it has become a must for music lovers from all over the world.

Gstaad, the beautiful mountain resort frequented by the rich and famous, with its breathtaking scenery and lovely chalets in the heart of the Bernese Oberland, was Lord Menuhin's choice. He lived there for many years until he died in 1999.

In 2008, the theme of the Festival will be "Joie de Vivre" and Gstaad will welcome performances of the London Symphony Orchestra, the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Yuri Bashmet, Sol Gabetta and Nigel Kennedy.
