Application process stage 2: Online tests

Applications for the 2009 graduate programme will close 30 November 2008.

There are four stages to the graduate recruitment process:

Stage 2: Online tests

Whichever programme you apply for, strong verbal and numerical reasoning skills are important. So, if your application passes our screening process, we'll ask you to complete online verbal and numerical reasoning tests. These should take about 20 minutes and, because they're online, you'll be able to take them at a time and place that are convenient for you.

Tips for taking the online tests
If you're invited to complete the online tests, we'll send you a link to the SHL Solutions website. SHL is the name of the company that produces the ability tests. Its website gives details of what’s required as well as some good examples of the type of questions involved. We strongly recommend you complete the sample questions before you take the actual tests.

You’ll have seven days to complete the tests. Do this when you can give them your undivided attention. Make sure it’s quiet and you won’t be disturbed. If you’re unable to complete the tests before the deadline, we might be able to give you an extension. However, we encourage you to complete the tests as quickly as possible to avoid any delays to your application. To ask for an extension, contact us as soon as possible. Please reply to the invitation email you receive and change the subject line to "SHL test extension" so that we can deal with your request quickly, or contact us online.
