British Classic Car Meeting 2006

21 July 2006

More than 180 classic cars lined up in St Moritz over the weekend of 14 July for the 13th annual British Classic Car Meeting, sponsored by HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA.

A number of guests of the Private Bank were invited to take part in the events, which began with a cocktail evening and buffet dinner on the Friday night.

Saturday’s rally began in St Moritz leading to the Bernina, Passo Aprica, Passo della Foppa and to Bormio before coming back around to the Engadin with stops along the route for lunch and challenging tests. Taking part were makes such as Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Lagonda, Jaguar, Daimler and Austin Healey & Healey. Prizes were awarded to drivers in the evening at a gala dinner in the Suvretta House hotel.

On Sunday the cars took to the road again for the ‘Concours d’Elégance’, passing the HSBC Private Bank Seasonal Office on the Via Serlas. Polished to a perfect shine, the cars were judged for the best representation of each make for both the pre- and post-World War II eras.

“The BCCM is the principal summer event in St Moritz and we were delighted to once again be the exclusive bank sponsor,” said Suzanne Martel, Senior Marketing Executive, HSBC Private Bank (Suisse) SA.

Frank Hofmann, Head Key Accounts Group Zurich, said: “This event is an excellent opportunity to entertain our clients as well as demonstrate the range of services provided by our Seasonal Office in St Moritz.”
